Meet the Family behind the Business

 Mother, and founder of A Simpler Time Homestead, Gift & Bake Shop; Sally grew up with a crafty mom so it makes sense she would find her calling as an artisan!

In early 2009 she originally created Silkki's Kountry Krafts, a gift basket business, which rapidly grew and transformed into the business you see before you today! Through the years the business name changed more than a few times, first to Payette Custom Creations in 2016 to allow the kids to take over the business one day, then with the discovery of Farmer G's parental side of the family in 2019, SC Custom Creations born and finally the store became A Simpler Time Farmhouse Creations in 2023.

Don't worry "A Simpler Time" is the last change!

 Father and hard working creative partner. Farmer G unexpectantly retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in the Spring of 2022 and he can now quite often be found in the shop cutting wood or bending metals to create so many of the beautiful pieces that we sell, online and in our store!

A huge supporter of his wife over the years, through all of her business journeys, Farmer G has been beside her every step of the way!

Whether through mental and emotional encouragement from afar while on deployments or supporting via hitting the grind alone side Sally, he has been a huge part of helping create the business that you see today!

 Phoebe, the eldest child, creative and adventurous; is currently offsite on an adventure through Canada. She is still keeping busy creating and enjoying creating beautiful resin pieces in her down time while she's not working as a Store Manager.

Phoebe plans to return to the farm one day and get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city but for now, continues on her own adventure, her own journey through life!

We couldn't be any more proud of her than we are; for all of the things already accomplished at such a young age & all the things yet to accomplish!

 Felicity is very much a farmer and animal lover, just like her momma! From a very young age the passion and love felt for animals, especially farm animals radiated through for all to see. She has always adored farm life and all that comes with it, except for the one part of it. 

Felicity can often be found hanging out in the farm yard with her beloved chickens, turkeys and ducks, she's hoping to add some geese to the farm soon, too.

A very talented bakery artist who decorates cakes, cupcakes and so much more!

Over the years she has worked to prefect the skills which can be seen in many of the products in our gift & bake shop, A Simpler Time Farmhouse Creations, in Elmwood, NB.

Very soon she will be off on her next adventure and leave our farm for higher learning.

We will wish her the best when the time comes and miss her terribly when she's away!

Dagan, the eldest son, can often be found out in the shop working alongside his dad; milling lumber or helping create many of the lovely pieces sold in the store and online. 

He is a very compassionate individual with the knowledge and wisdom to help those in need, whether human or animal!

Dagan has an attention to detail and is a very creative; spending most of the time, outside of school, creating new items that will be loved and cherished by all. During school one year he had created a business called "Dagan's Bead Buddies" as a young entrepreneurial assignment and it continued to be successful for a few years after that school project.

Although the family business started shortly after birth, Dagan has always been an important part of keeping it going and making sure orders were created to the highest standard! Dagan's standard!

Being the youngest definitely doesn't slow Neo down in helping create beautiful items for our customers to enjoy!

Unlike his 4H participating siblings, we relocated from Ontario before Neo could join anything other than Cloverbuds, so Farm life has been learned and taught much differently for him. It's been all hands on, all day everyday. Definitely a "Learn to do by doing" way of learning. A lot of hands on experience for this youngster, excelling at every opportunity.

Probably the best chicken processer we have on the farm. But that's not all this youngest child can do... Neo especially enjoys creating items for our younger customers. Definitely feels pride of work when other youth enjoy what has been crafted by those two hands! Neo is a very creative individual, who when not working on creating items for the business can be found perfecting face & body painting talents as well as costume design. Drawing and writing stories also consume much of the downtime.
