By choosing to place a deposit for one, or more, of our animals you are expressing your acceptance and agreement of our sales policy as outlined below.
- Prior to purchase buyers must educate themselves on the breed(s) of animals that they're purchasing from us; as well as abiding by the local laws regarding those animals.
- You must provide us with your premise ID prior to the Kunekunes leaving our farm. It is the law in Canadian that all breeding pigs must have their movements tracked by PigTrace Canada as a Biosecurity measure. Kunekune buyers must have or obtain a Premise ID from province of residence. If you do not yet have one please register for one with your province. Feeder pigs do not require tracing at this time.
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is due immediately in order to reserve an animal. All livestock deposits are non-refundable. If you back out of your purchase for any reason this deposit is applied to the unexpected expenditures we incur from having the animal longer than expected, which may include foods, housing, vetting, transportations, readvertising, among other expenses.
- As the breeder, we reserve the right to retain any animal regardless of reservations; and the right to refuse the sale of any animal that we have bred; to anyone, for any reason, at any point in the transaction! In which case your deposit will be refunded and buyer agreement to purchase will be terminated.
- Animals must be picked up no later than 14 days after they are weaned and/or ready to go; if animals are not picked up on the pre-arranged pick up date a $5 per day/per animal boarding fee will be charged to buyers. At A Simpler Time Farm the ready to go dates are between 8 and 15 weeks, depending on species, with the exclusion of day old chicks. This is to ensure all of our animals have the most vigorous and healthy start to their life. If contact cannot be established with the buyer after the agreed upon pick up date, we will consider your mind changed, your non-refundable deposit will be forfeited and that animal will be put back up for sale.
- Full payment is due prior to the animal(s) leaving our property. If you wish to pay your balance at the time of pick-up, we accept cash, credit and debit cards in store or send an e-transfer beforehand; we do not accept any cheques, personal or business!
- Pick-up: Please ensure that you bring appropriate transportation for your animals. A crate with fresh, dry and clean bedding is the best option for pigs, sheep, goats, poultry and waterfowl, a truck or trailer with dry and clean bedding is best for adult pigs, sheep, goats and calves.
- For bio-security we arrange for pick up of your animals at our store location in Elmwood, NB. For the safety of our animals we do not allow visitors on our farm.
- Local Delivery within New Brunswick, the NB/NS border and the NB/QC border: We can provide the option for delivery within New Brunswick, with an added delivery charge payable by the buyer. Alternate third-party ground transportation may be arranged by the buyer at the buyer’s expense.
- Our animals are guaranteed to be healthy when they leave our farm but because we cannot control the stress of shipping and the animal’s management or environment after it leaves our care, we do not offer any further health guarantees or refunds.
- If you have purchased breeding stock: males and females must be kept separate until maturity for the health and safety of the animals; to avoid any unwanted, premature conception. If you are purchasing multiples for the purpose of future breeding we are happy to discuss your options to help ensure the COI% is as low as possible.
- For farm bio-security, we do not offer breeding or stud services. We do not allow our studs, of any species, to leave our farm for breeding purposes. Nor do we welcome other's animals onto the farm for breeding.
