Wethers are often available as companions for our young breeding stock.

Starter packages: breeding duos, breeder/companion duos, and breeding trios with companions – prices vary please contact for pricing and availability.

Price ranges are reflective of the Canadian market price, conformation, lineage, and coloration of the goat. All sales are in accordance with our Animal Sales Policy and include the cost of registration, de-worming, shots, and ear tags. A 50% deposit is required to hold your kid(s) and full payment is required before any livestock departs A Simpler Time Farm properties.

Since goats are herd animals and feel most comfortable with other members of their species we suggest they be purchased in groups of two or more when an existing herd is not already in place on your farm. Please keep in mind, and we cannot stress this enough, breeding bucklings and doelings must be separated by 4 months of age until you are ready to breed and they will need compatible companions during their separation period. We highly recommend our Breeder/Companion duos or breeding trios with companions if you're just starting out on your dairy goat production journey, this will ensure your future breeder(s) will come with a companion whether to keep them company during the times when your buck is not breeding. We highly recommend keeping males and females separated unless intentionally breeding.

Popular pasturing options that we recommend to folks just starting out:

1. Wethers only; 2 or more wethers kept together for pets
2. Doeling/Wether; 1 breeding doeling & 1 wether pastured together
3. Buckling/Wether; 1 breeding buckling & 1 wether pastured together
4. Doelings only; 2 or more doelings pastured together
5. Bucklings only; 2 or more bucklings pastured together

* If investing in a breeding duos, trios, or more please remember to keep each of your pastures occupied with two or more goats, to ward off loneliness and depression.
